Principal's Message

Hello Tukwila Families, and Happy Summer! 

As summer winds down and we begin to think about school, We excitedly WELCOME YOU BACK to a new school year filled with opportunities and new learning! We hope that you took some time to rest, relax, and enjoyed the incredible weather we had this summer. 

After a FULFILLING AND ACHIEVEMENT FILLED YEAR, The Tukwila staff and I are excited to welcome back our kiddos for the 23-24 school year. With our continued commitment to our PBIS’s 3’rs (Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe), and our commitment to cultivating an equitable, welcoming, and safe learning environment for students and staff, we will undoubtedly achieve academic and social-emotional success for ALL of our students. 

I believe in high expectations for all students, and I believe when given the opportunities, ALL students will work hard to achieve any expectations put before them. We look forward to academic challenges, rigor-filled opportunities, and unique problem-solving conversations. At Tukwila Elementary, we take great pride in being “The Best and The Brightest.” We look forward to connecting with all of you throughout the year and invite your immense knowledge and diversity to make our school truly “The Best and The Brightest!

  • First Day of School -  Tuesday, September 5 at 8:50 a.m. (school doors open at 8:30 a.m.)

  • Kindergarten Open House - Tuesday, August 30, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. 

  • Kindergarten Early Release (WA Kids) - First 5 Days of School

    • Tuesday, Sep 5: K Dismiss @ 12:40 p.m.

    • Wednesday, Sep 6: K Dismiss @ 12:40 p.m.

    • Thursday, Sep 7: K Dismiss @ 12:40 p.m.

    • Friday, Sep 8: K Dismiss @ 12:40 p.m.

    • Monday, Sep 9: K Dismiss @ 12:40 p.m.

  • Open House/Back to School Night - Tuesday, September 19, 5:00 - 6:00 pm. 

Important Notifications

  • You are more than welcome to purchase school supplies based on the school supply list, but the district will also be providing school supplies for all students this year. 

  • School breakfast and lunches will be free for ALL students.
